You can give her a
better future.

Juana just graduated from kindergarten.

She’s looking forward to starting first grade.

She should have a bright future ahead of her.

Unfortunately, in the Guatemalan community where Juana lives, only half of all girls will finish 6th grade.

Only 18% of girls who enter first grade will graduate from 9th grade.

Every year that Juana stays in school will increase her chances of having a better future.

According to the World Bank:

educating girls yields a higher rate of return than any other investment in the developing world.

In 2018, 21 girls began first grade at Colegio Horeb in Cotzal, Guatemala.
Statistically, only four of those girls will graduate from ninth grade.

Only four.

SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT

WIND is leading the effort to construct a new school on a three-acre site in Cotzal. This will allow Colegio Horeb to have permanent classrooms and auxiliary spaces to provide education for up to 700 students.

child sponsorship

Our 21 Girls Program encourages all girls to graduate from ninth grade by matching each student with a sponsor. WIND also supports continued education beyond ninth grade for both at-risk and gifted students.

FEEDING programs

WIND funds a feeding program to meet the needs of malnourished children who struggle in the classroom. WIND also supports local food distribution programs which target those in greatest need in the community.

WIND TEAMS

We bring several teams throughout the year to encourage and equip the teachers and students, provide dental and medical care, and offer training to area pastors. Building and strengthening relationships is an important component of what our teams accomplish.
